چکیده

Objective: There is a lack of information about whether preschool-aged children are providing maximal attempts when measuring strength. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the association between handgrip strength and fore arm muscle size across age ranges, including three years old. Design Methods: A total 166 preschool (87 boys 79 girls) ages 3.5 6.5 were recruited from local kindergarten with cooperation their parents. Maximum voluntary (HGS) was measured right hand using Smedley dynamometer. Muscle thickness (MT-ulna) B-mode ultrasound at anterior forearm arm. Results: All beta (B) coefficients unstandardized. statistically significant relationship (r = 0.525) MT-ulna HGS [B 0.751 (95% CI: 0.563, 0.938) p < 0.001]. However, did not depend upon [MT-ulna*Age in months: B -0.0033 -0.01, 0.01), 0.658]. In other words, vary by months. This also true expressed (MT-Ulna*Age years: 0.697). Conclusion: Our results indicated that baseline might provide suggestive evidence maximally contracting. we acknowledge correlation analysis has limitations. Further research needed observe these variables through longitudinal studies confirm study.

Maximal strength testing in healthy children.

Strength training has become an accepted method of conditioning in children. However, there is concern among some observers that maximal strength testing may be inappropriate or potentially injurious to children. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 1 repetition maximum (1RM) strength testing in healthy children. Thirty-two girls and 64 boys between 6.2 and 12.3 ...

Respiratory muscle strength test: is it realistic in young children?

OBJECTIVE To determine the success rate of the manovacuometry test in children between 4 and 12 years of age. METHODS Cross-sectional study involving children and adolescents from 4 to 12 years of age, enrolled in three basic education schools. All subjects had the anthropometric and respiratory muscle strength (maximum inspiratory pressure and maximum expiratory pressure) data measured. Stud...

Validity of the Handheld Dynamometer Compared with an Isokinetic Dynamometer in Measuring Peak Hip Extension Strength

PURPOSE To determine whether the handheld dynamometer (HHD) is an appropriate tool to assess and quantify peak hip extension strength in prone standing position by (1) evaluating the concurrent validity of the HHD versus an isokinetic dynamometer (IKD), (2) establishing the minimal detectable change (MDC), and (3) determining the validity of single-trial versus multi-trial measures. METHOD A ...

Maximal Torque and Muscle Strength is Affected by Seat Distance from the Steering Wheel when Driving

[Purpose] This research analyzed how seat distance and gender affect maximal torque and muscle strength when driving to present base data for the optimal driving posture. [Subjects and Methods] The subjects were 27 college students in their 20's, 15 males and 12 females. After had been measured, the subjects sat in front of a steering wheel with the distance between the steering wheel and the s...

SOLVING FUZZY LINEAR SYSTEMS BY USING THE SCHUR COMPLEMENT WHEN COEFFICIENT MATRIX IS AN M-MATRIX

This paper analyzes a linear system of equations when the righthandside is a fuzzy vector and the coefficient matrix is a crisp M-matrix. Thefuzzy linear system (FLS) is converted to the equivalent crisp system withcoefficient matrix of dimension 2n × 2n. However, solving this crisp system isdifficult for large n because of dimensionality problems . It is shown that thisdifficulty may be avoide...
